Does anyone know how to crochet a 5-pointed star shaped afghan or throw blanket?

yes! and I just finished one. I can give you a pattern.

If you can’t understand the pattern let me know and I’ll give you more simple directions. I’ve been crocheting for 20yrs and still can’t read patterns well. I rely on looking at the picture or having someone show me so I used the picture for figuring this one out.

These two patterns aren’t exactly the same so you’ll have to do one or the other.

Does anyone know where I can find a free pattern and directions for a crochet prayer afghan or throw blanket?

Lion Brand’s site had a free prayer shawl pattern. It uses four skeins of homespun. Sounds like a lot, but it works up pretty quickly.

Update: I used Lion Brand’s "pattern finder" and searched for "prayer afghan" and a free pattern did come up.
