Elmo the Dog – Staticky Hair due to a fleece blanket

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Watch in HQ please

Elmo was sleeping under the fleece blanket and when he wiggled out his hair was all static.
He looks a little sleepy but he’s awake because I freaked out and took out the camera to catch the static before it disappears.

Soft Fleece Blanket Rat Maze

Monday, February 15th, 2010

This is footage of my boys learning how to run a maze in January 2010. They really seem to love this! The softness of the fleece blanket and their natural inclination for dark places go hand-in-hand. These are easy to make too! Just buy a fleece blanket (I got two blankets for $5 at Walgreens). Fold in half an sew the unfolded edges together. Use a maze generator (like http://www.glassgiant.com/maze/ ) and then trace the maze onto the blanket with a sharpie. Use a zig-zag stitch and trace the sharpie lines with your sewing machine. Cut the entrances and exits (or you can make the entrances and exits at the edge of the blanket and avoid making cuts). The best part is that there is no reason to strive for sewing perfection. The rats will destroy it or you’ll get bored with it and want to make a new one before lackluster finishing ruins the maze!

I need an easy idea for making a baby blanket.?

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

I would like to make a blanket for a baby shower. I do have a sewing machine, but have never made a blanket before. Any ideas?

Buy 1.5 yards or fleece in a baby pattern and some blanket binding. Open the fleece and fold short side toward long side until it forms a triangle. Cut off excess fabric so that you have a square if necessary. when you open it you will have two raw edges and two finished edges. then simply put blanket binding over raw edges and sew useing a zigzag stitch.
